Apple Notes: To use a DVI monitor with MacBook systems, the monitor must support HDCP copy protection. Some older DVI monitors do not support HDCP and may exhibit issues that make them unusable. This requirement applies only to OS X, as Boot Camp Windows installations work correctly with DVI monitors that do not support HDCP.
